Neckar
The Neckar stretches out for 228 miles, is a major right tributary of the Rhine and the 10th longest river in Germany. Its source is in the Schweninger Moos at Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest and it flows through south western Germany before joining with the Rhine at Mannheim. A cruise along this river passes major cities, quaint towns, ancient fortresses, vine-clad hills, feudal castles and lush landscapes, all of which retain their charm all year round. The name Neckar means wild water.
