Sulawesi

As visitors to Sulawesi for the past 26 years we were shocked and saddened when the deadly earthquake and tsunami struck at the end of September 2018 wreaking destruction. Over 2,1000 people lost their lives and more than 200,000 were displaced.

We supported the work of ShelterBox with a £5,000 donation to help the most vulnerable families. The response team has worked closely with local Rotarians in Sulawesi to help survivors of the earthquake and tsunami in remote villages who were left with nothing. ShelterBox has provided the basic necessities; tents, water purifications kits and mosquito nets to those whose homes have been destroyed and their lives devastated.

We are planning to provide further assistance when rebuilding commences in Palu and the surrounding area.
