Madagascar Wild Silk Forest Appeal

For a second season travellers aboard the Island Sky in the Indian Ocean have been quick to support Feedback Magascar’s Wild Silk Forest Appeal by purchasing a "lamba" - a traditional Malagasy forest silk scarf - the product made by participants of the Wild Silk project as featured on the BBC and endorsed by Sir David Attenborough.

Thanks to Pam LeNoury and the team aboard the Island Sky we have raised £12,000. The sales of the scarves pays a living wage to silk weavers and helps further develop the 'market' for wild silk products on this project run by Feedback Madagascar, who work with and listen to the poorest communities in Madagascar, helping to address the short and long-term threats to the people, plants and animals.

In case that wasn’t enough the following organisations have also benefitted in various ways from the presence of the Island Sky, her tireless team and generous passengers:

Primary schools in Sainte Marie & Joffreville (stationery donations)

Diego Suarez Hospital (sheets, towels and stationery)

Joffrevill café by Amber Mountain National Park run by guides (reference materials)
