
Simon Field
Simon Field, a former Chartered Accountant, is a Master of Wine who most recently bought French and Spanish Wines for the London Wine Merchant Berry Bros and Rudd. It was here - over a period of two decades - that he cultivated his love of the great wines from the Rhône Valley and the Midi. He is a member of the prestigious Gran Orden de Cabelleros for his services to Spanish wine in the UK, and a regular contributor to a variety of publications, including Decanter, Drinks Business and the World of Fine Wine, for whom he also tastes and reviews Champagne. To complete his repertoire, Simon is an expert on fortified wines, with a particular affinity to the great wines of port and sherry. His love of travel is well suited to his peripatetic job and often, when he visits vineyards such as those of the Rhine or around Verona, he is able to indulge his other great love which is opera.
