Frances Housdon
Fran was born in Cape Town South Africa and raised by a family of sailors, writers, and outdoor enthusiasts. After completing her honours degree in journalism, Fran went on to work as an environmental journalist and all-around media person covering climate change, sustainability, and technology for organizations and non-profits across Australia, South Africa, and the US. Since then she has spent the past few years working as a guide, zodiac driver and lecturer on ships all over the globe, with a heavy focus on the Indian Ocean and the polar regions. Outside of this, she is a kayaker, plant lover, PADI free-diver, very slow trail runner, and enthusiastic naturalist. She is passionate about all aspects of conservation and sustainability and hopes to spend the rest of her life writing, reading and preserving beautiful places.
