
Cory Jones
Cory Jones has been based in the Highlands of Scotland for the last 15 years, he is a passionate outdoors person and both an international mountain leader and a sea kayak guide. Originally training as an ecologist he worked for Field Studies Council for many years, eventually managing Malham Tarn Field Centre in North Yorkshire. Cory then worked for the Wildlife Trusts in Sheffield and Cumbria. He is a lifelong birder / naturalist and developed an ornithology module for Lancashire Universities Adult Learning Team. He has worked worldwide on social development projects – Kenya, Philippines, Russia, Rwanda, Iran, Uzbekistan to name a few. He holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management and is a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. Cory is a Green Badge guide for the Scottish Highlands and has been leading groups in the outdoor environment for over 30 years. He has led trips worldwide guiding in Nepal, Iceland, East Africa, Bolivia, Guyana and India. Cory walked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2017 and more recently lead a 1000-mile canoe journey through the pristine boreal forests of Yukon & NW Territories crossing the arctic circle and the continental divide.
