Isabel Neves
Isabel was born on a farm in rural Portugal. She lived here with her grandparents until the age of 6 as dictatorship was still governing the country. From a young age she loved going out to explore with her grandfather’s flock of sheep and goats. Going to school in the village and listening to her grandparents’ stories, Isabel learned from early on to respect nature and to be very imaginative. Isabel is, maybe because of that, a very chatty person who loves to read and extremely interested in environmental causes. Later she moved to Lisbon and got fascinated with travelling, she did several courses in Spanish and in Italian and she got her Degree in Tourism and become a certified Portuguese National Tour Guide, in English and French.
For seven years she worked as a Tour Guide, a Tour Manager and a Travel Agent in Portugal until the travel bug brought her to London, where she worked in a few travel agencies before joining Noble Caledonia in 2006. First in reservations then as Field Staff Assistant to the Expedition Staff Dept, having gained a particularly good insight into the Noble Operations and Family, which she very proudly belongs to.
Having to return to Portugal for family reasons, Isabel continued to work for Noble, now as a Senior Tour Manager with very eclectic interests. Isabel is a people person who really enjoys the company and interaction with the well-seasoned Noble Caledonia travellers. World River waterways: Douro, Danube, Mekong, Brahmaputra, the Amazon rainforest, Galápagos, Svalbard, Iceland and the Azores, as well as land based tours in India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Morocco are some of her highlights.
'Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.' Isabel is pretty sure Mark Twain had her in mind when he said that.
