Offshore Islands Guardianship Programme - Antigua

After a successful pilot in 2025, NCCT will fully sponsor a new 2026 cohort of 25 local students and volunteers to take part in the Environmental Awareness Group’s Offshore Islands Guardian Programme in Antigua. This unique initiative blends hands-on conservation with practical learning, supporting vital work such as protecting nesting sea turtles, restoring fragile offshore island habitats, and controlling invasive species that threaten native wildlife. Participants receive immersive classroom training alongside real field experience before spending six months actively monitoring wildlife across Antigua, Barbuda and Redonda — gaining valuable skills while directly contributing to conservation on the ground.

By supporting this programme, we are helping to invest in local people as the long-term guardians of their own environment. Many of these young conservation champions go on to careers in environmental protection, education, and community leadership, creating a powerful ripple effect that extends far beyond a single project. Your donations don’t just fund conservation activities — they build lasting capacity, strengthen local stewardship, and help safeguard some of the Caribbean’s most fragile ecosystems for generations to come.
