Dnieper Princess

The mixed-nationality MS Dnieper Princess accommodates a maximum of 230 passengers. Built in 1976 and refurbished in 2016, this comfortable and well run vessel is ideal for exploring the Dnieper River.

  • Your Cabin / Suite

    All cabins are outside facing and have a window which can be opened. Standard cabins measure from 9 to 10 square metres, Deluxe cabins measure from 15 to 18 square metres and Single cabins measure 7 square metres. They are equipped with private en-suite facilities, individual climate control, radio and hairdryer. Deluxe cabins also have a flat screen TV. Standard twin cabins are small but comfortable whilst Deluxe cabins are larger in size and offer a higher level of comfort. Standard cabins have fixed twin beds whilst the Deluxe cabins have twin beds that can be configured in the continental style (pushed together) to make a double. 

  • Your Space

    Spread over three decks, the ship’s public spaces include two pleasant restaurants which accommodate guests in one sitting. There will be a mix of nationalities on board, mostly from Germany and Norway, and seating in the dining rooms is open at breakfast, with fixed seating at lunch and dinner. The Sky Lounge/Bar offers plenty of space for relaxing and socializing and large windows for you to experience unforgettable views as you enjoy coffee, tea or a light snack. The vessel also has a gift shop and a hairdresser. In favourable weather the Sun Deck offers an ample space to sit and read or watch the world go by as you sail along the river. 

  • Your Dining

    Meals are taken in the vessel’s restaurants on the Upper and Boat Decks. The food reflects the flavours of the region, with specialty dishes being served and the onboard team taking great pride in producing flavourful dishes. Breakfast is a buffet arrangement whilst lunch and dinner are a served affair. Vegetarian dishes are available and other special dietary needs can be met with advance notice. Tea, coffee and tap water are served with all meals. Outside of meal times you may purchase drinks from the bar. 

  • Life Onboard

    The staff on board provide a friendly and efficient service and work hard to ensure that your cruise is informative, relaxing and enjoyable. There is also a doctor on board (charges apply). Your Noble Caledonia Tour Manager will accompany you throughout the tour and be on hand each day to assist whilst expert English speaking guides will provide you with information and commentary on the included excursions.

    We are delighted that you have chosen the MS Dnieper Princess for your upcoming voyage.

    Accommodating a maximum of 230 passengers over three decks, we have chosen to take an allocation of cabins on board as she is the ideal choice of vessel for our cruises along the Dnieper. The ship’s experienced staff are friendly and welcoming and you will be able to enjoy great service and hospitality on board. Facilities include two restaurants serving a variety of local and international dishes, a comfortable lounge/bar and a large Sun Deck which is the perfect place to observe the banks of the majestic Dnieper River as you sail along. The atmosphere on board is relaxed and informal and the friendly onboard staff of 100 will do much to add to your enjoyment throughout your journey.

    We hope this information booklet answers any questions you may have pertaining to the vessel and wish you a pleasant voyage. 

    AIR CONDITIONING

    All cabins have individually controlled heating and air conditioning.

    ALARM

    An alarm will be sounded in the event of emergency. Please follow the instructions provided on board for what to do in the event of emergency.

    ALL ABOARD

    Your times for embarkation and disembarkation will be provided by your Cruise Director on board.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    During your time on board, various announcements will be made by the ship’s crew and the onboard Cruise Director. Please listen out for these announcements as they will be of importance or interest.

    BAR/BEVERAGES

    Tea, coffee and water at mealtimes are included in your holiday price and other drinks can be purchased. Payment is accepted in Ukranian Hyrvnia or by credit card (Visa, Mastercard).

    BEAUTY SALON

    No salon is available on board.

    CABIN DIMENSIONS & FACILITIES

    Standard cabins measure from 9 to 10 square metres, deluxe cabins measure from 15 to 18 square metres and single cabins measure 7 square metres. Standard cabins have fixed twin beds which cannot be made into a double and deluxe cabins have twin beds that can be configured in the continental style (pushed together) to make a double. Cabin windows can be opened on all decks. All cabins are equipped with private en-suite facilities, individually controlled air conditioning and heating, radio, and hairdryer. Deluxe cabins also have satellite TV.

    CRUISE DIRECTOR & TOUR MANAGER

    The cruise operators contract a Ukranian Cruise Director who will look after the day to day operations on board the ship. You will travel with a Noble Caledonia Tour Manager who will be on hand to ensure that the tour runs smoothly.

    CURRENCY

    The currency on board is the UAH (Ukranian Hryvnia). Drinks and services, such as gifts, may be purchased by credit card or cash (UAH) only. Onboard services e.g. purchases from the gift shop or hairdresser must be paid for at the time of purchase. Personal cheques or debit cards are not accepted.

    DAILY PROGRAMME

    Each evening the next day’s program will be delivered to your cabin.

    DRESS CODE

    Comfortable and practical attire is recommended during the day for excursions and something slightly dressier for the evening.

    ELECTRICITY

    Electricity on board is 220v with 2-pin power outlets. In the bathroom there is a 110v socket (220V in the deluxe cabins) which may be used for electric shavers only. We recommend you take an adaptor with you. In the interests of safety, please note that the use of electrical irons on board is strictly prohibited.

    ELEVATOR

    There is no elevator on board.

    EMERGENCY AND SAFETY PROCEDURES

    Full details of the ship’s emergency and safety procedures shall be provided following your embarkation. There is a doctor on board (charges apply).

    FIRE SAFETY

    On your cabin door is a deck plan displaying your closest (and all other) emergency exits. Emergency exits are marked in green and fire extinguishers fitted in all corridors.

    FIRST AID

    There is a doctor on board and a number of crew are fully trained and certified to provide First Aid. Further medical assistance can be sought from one of the hospitals along the river in the event of emergency.

    GRATUITIES

    Gratuities have been included in your holiday price. 

    GIFT SHOP

    A gift shop selling various practical and souvenir items is available on the Upper Deck. Payment for purchases is in cash (UAH or Euro) or by credit card whilst the ship is in Ukraine. Payment is in cash only (UAH or Euros) whilst the ship is in Romania.

    HAIRDRESSER

    There is a hairdresser on board. Payment is in cash only and UAH or Euros are accepted.

    HOUSEKEEPING

    Your cabin will be cleaned once a day and you will be provided with a ‘turn down’ service at night.

    KEYS TO CABIN

    Each cabin will receive their own cabin key. Before leaving the ship we kindly ask all passengers to swap the cabin key with a shore pass which will be provided to you by the ship’s reception desk. After your return to the ship, we would please ask for you to return your shore pass to Reception in exchange for your cabin key.

    LAUNDRY

    There is a laundry service on board but no dry cleaning service.

    LIBRARY

    There is a reading salon on the Upper Deck with a small stock of books and games. We recommend you bring along your own travel literature and guides.

    LOST PROPERTY

    Please ensure you have all of your belongings with you before you return home. Should you leave items on board the ship we are only able to return them to you at your own cost.

    MEALS

    Meals are taken in the ship’s two restaurants on the Upper and Boat Decks. The restaurants serve local dishes in addition to an international menu and tables seat four to six guests. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served on board. Breakfast and afternoon tea are buffet style service with open seating and lunch and dinner are fixed seating with served menu choices and a self-serve salad bar. Certain dietary requests can be catered for (on request). Please provide any such requests in writing to Noble Caledonia at the time of your reservation and please reiterate these requests to the ship’s Hotel Manager or Noble Caledonia Tour Manager upon your embarkation.

    MOSQUITOS

    Please ensure you take the appropriate precautions to guard against mosquito bites.

    NEWSPAPERS

    Newspapers are not available on board.

    OPERATIONAL CHANGES

    Despite our meticulous planning efforts, there may be times when changes must be made to the daily program due to circumstances beyond our control such as heavy river traffic or fluctuating water levels. The ship’s Captain and crew will do their utmost to find the best and safest solution. Any changes to the day’s schedule will be communicated as soon as possible.

    PAYMENTS ONBOARD

    Payment for drinks will be added to your ship account and chits issued at point of purchase. Full payment is due at the end of your cruise by cash (UAH only) or credit card (Visa, Mastercard). Personal cheques or debit cards are not accepted. Any other purchases such as from the gift shop or hairdresser must be paid for at the time of purchase. Regrettably, the ship is not able to offer a money-changing service on board as this would be contravening official regulations.

    POST

    The vessel’s gift shop sells postcards and stamps for you to purchase (subject to availability) and items can be posted on your behalf by the ship’s crew (although as they are unable to do so each day, this could take longer than if you were to post yourself). Please note that neither the ship nor Noble Caledonia can be held responsible for items of post that are not successfully delivered on your behalf.

    QUESTIONNAIRES

    A questionnaire shall be provided to all passengers towards the end of their sailing. We would be grateful for you to complete and return this. 

    QUIETVOX/AUDIO SYSTEM

    The ship provides a ‘Quietvox’ audio system for use on shore excursions. Further details shall be provided to you following your embarkation.

    RECEPTION

    Reception is staffed throughout the day. A member of crew can be contacted 24 hours a day.

    ROOM SERVICE

    Room (cabin) service is not available on board.

    SAFE

    The cabins do not have a safe. The reception has a safe facility which you are welcome to use for any valuables you may have. Please remember to remove all items from the safe prior to you departing the vessel at the end of the cruise.

    SAFETY

    Please take careful note of all safety instructions provided to you by the Master and crew of the vessel. Full safety instructions are available to you in your cabin.

    SMOKING

    Smoking within your cabin or any of the vessel’s public areas is strictly prohibited. Designated smoking areas are provided and can be advised by the ship’s reception upon embarkation.

    SUN DECK

    The ship has a Sun Deck which is available for guests to enjoy. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close the Sun Deck (when it is too windy). Please listen carefully to the Captain and Crew for instruction. Please also note that the Sun Deck and its steps may become slippery if the weather is cool or dew forms.

    TELEPHONE

    There is no telephone in the cabins.

    VISITORS

    Please contact Noble Caledonia to request permission to invite a visitor(s) on board. The ship’s operators reserve the right to deny boarding to any persons.

    WATER

    Drinkable tap water is available at mealtimes. Bottled water is available for purchase from the bar.

    WIFI

    Wireless internet connection is available without charge within the ship’s lounge. There may be times when internet connection is slow or not available.
