Matthew Parker
Matthew Parker grew up in Barbados, was educated at Oxford, and is the bestselling and critically-acclaimed author of a number of books about the Caribbean including Panama Fever, The Sugar Barons and Goldeneye. His latest book, Willoughbyland, brings to life the untold story of the lost English colony in Suriname. He is a frequent contributor to TV and radio around the world on the history of the Caribbean and as well as literary festivals, Matthew has lectured at the Royal Geographical Society in London, the Explorers’ Club in New York, Northwestern University in Chicago, The Society of the Americas in Washington and the Barbados Museum amongst many other places.
