The mighty Mekong which flows through six countries is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful and wildest rivers and until recently its upper reaches were un-navigable. However we are now delighted to be offering this fully escorted tour which includes the Yunnan Province of China and Shangri-la, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The centre piece of this unique adventure will be our seven night voyage aboard the delightful RV Mekong Sun which we have on exclusive charter and which accommodates a party of only 28 guests.

Our journey begins in China and a highlight of our time spent there will be our visit to Zhongdian, known as Shangri-la. The region adjoins Tibet and abounds in Tibetan culture. Whilst exploring China and before embarking our river vessel our accommodation will be in four and five star hotels. Upon embarking the Mekong Sun we will explore the Golden Triangle on the border of Burma, Laos and Thailand. Cruising along the Mekong we stop at local villages, all the time witnessing daily life along the banks of the Mekong. We cruise onto mystical Luang Prabang in Laos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a town sure to captivate even the most jaded of travellers with its crumbling French colonial architecture, splendid gold wats with their hundreds of resident monks, river activity and markets. We finally explore the wonder which is Angkor Wat.
