Alain BidartAlain Bidart is French; he received his PhD in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Bordeaux and worked as researcher, then he has decided to devote himself to his passion for Polar Regions and nature. He worked first as scientific popularizer with the International Polar Foundation. In the framework of two educational projects for teachers and primary schools, he took part in two expeditions in Antarctica: two months under the tent on the ice sheet with a team of mountaineers, then a trip of one month on an ice-breaker for the first sighting of a total solar eclipse in Antarctica.
To share his knowledge about Polar Regions, Ocean and seabirds, he is now naturalist guide and lecturer on expedition cruises to Antarctica, Greenland, Svalbard, North Pole, Nunavut, and North Atlantic. Driven by passion for birds and observing wildlife, he leads also tours in Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia or Galápagos. Alain is also an accomplished wildlife photographer. |
